## Introduction

Cura is a tool to manage and grow **Communities**. It gives **Farcaster channels their own AI agent**. This agent helps community owners and moderators curate people and content, manage the community wallet, distribute rewards for positive participation. If the community wants, they can launch their own currency or token. It's simple, intuitive and gives valuable insights to a channel moderator, using OpenRank under the hood.

For community moderator&#x73;**,** Cura isn’t just a tool—it’s the ultimate key to unlocking your community’s full potential. You get to build a thriving community based on active contribution, genuine and meaningful engagement. It’s a no-brainer.

Cura gives each channel a **channel management web app, curabot and variety of frames**. Using these, a channel can:

1. **Automate Channel membership:** Setup membership criteria with automated invites.&#x20;
2. **Distribute Rewards for quality contribution:** Leaderboards based on Openrank reputation scores.&#x20;
3. **Launch Channel wallet and tokens:** Community wallet that launches token earned by community.&#x20;
4. **Show curated and algorithmic feeds:** Discover trending content via channel apps (frames).

# Setting up Cura

#### 1. Channel moderators can log into Cura Dashboard

Step 1: Go to [cura.openrank.com](https://cura.openrank.com/)

Step 2: Sign in using your Farcaster account

Step 3: If you are a moderator for multiple channels, go to top left channel icon to select the channel you want to manage

#### 2. Add curabot as a moderator for your channel

Step 1: On the Cura dashboard, Go to the Auto Invite tab and click on 'Add Curabot' button

Step 2: voilà, you’ve added Curabot as a mod to your channel, so it can assist you in moderation; alternatively, you can use Warpcast to add @curabot as member in your channel then make it a mod manually

# Approve Membership Requests

Set up a frame for your channel with 1-click and start reviewing requests .

### What does cura do?

Cura frame allows users to request to join your Warpcast channel. You can review these requests in the "Pending Requests" module on the Cura web app. Requests are sorted by a user's OpenRank reputation score, making it easy to approve them with a single click. Users can also include a sentence explaining why they want to join the channel.&#x20;

### How to enable it?

Step 1: click on “**Share Join Frame**” button in Cura web app, this generates a cast with the frame link quoted in the cast

Step 2: edit the cast and cast in your channel. Then, users will be able to click on the frame to request to join

Step 3: pin the cast to the top of your channel. Alternatively in case you have another pinned cast, add the frame link <https://frame.openrank.com/api/channel/Your_Channel_ID_Here> as an external link to the channel description \
eg: frame link for /zora is `https://frame.openrank.com/api/channel/zora`

### Manage Incoming requests

If you are a moderator or the channel owner, you can head over to <https://cura.openrank.com> and sign in using your Farcaster to see all the pending requests for your channel.

View who has applied to join your channel through the [Cura frame](/simplify-channel-management/approve-membership-requests). You can accept or reject these requests. Once you accept a request, an invite is automatically sent on your behalf.

# Auto-invite and Auto-approve

To use automatic criteria to invite users to your channel, you should first ensure that **@curabot** is added as a moderator to your channel. We’ve made it easy by providing a one-click setup prompt in the 'auto invite' tab on your dashboard.

## Automatic Criteria Available

When multiple criteria are set, we implicitly use an "OR" condition. This means the system will check if a follower meets **any** of the specified criteria, and if they match at least one, an auto invite will be sent.

**Followed By**\
Automatically invite users who are followed by other farcaster users, such as your channel’s moderators or reputable users. This helps bring relevant and connected members into your community.

**OpenRank Global user rankings (\~power badge)**\
Set a threshold for OpenRank global user rankings to automatically invite users who meet or exceed this rank. This helps ensure you're inviting influential or top users to your channel. **Hypersub Subscription** \
Invite users subscribed to specific Hypersubs relevant to your channel.

**ERC-20 Token Holdings** \
Auto invite users holding certain ERC-20 tokens, perfect for building token-gated communities.

**ERC-721 Token Holdings**\
Invite users who own specific NFTs (ERC-721 tokens), allowing you to create exclusive channels for collectors.

## **How to setup automatic criteria?**&#x20;

In this example, we’ve configured "Followed By" and "OpenRank Global Rank" as the two criteria. Every 30 minutes, the system will check the followers of `/openrank` and identify any FIDs that meet **either** of these criteria. If a match is found, an invite will automatically be sent to that user.

# Channel Leaderboards

Introduction, Setting up and FAQ about Leaderboards for Mods and Users

Your Channel leaderboard gives a weekly and lifetime standing of users based on their engagement and reputation. Users are ranked based on OpenRank scores, which can be thought of as a reputation system for the channel, rewarding engagement aligned with desired channel rules and culture.&#x20;

Once the leaderboard is launched, an initial score for users is calculated based on the last 60 days contributions within the channel. After launch, users earn scores daily based on their engagement within the channel, and daily scores are aggregated to a weekly total.&#x20;

## **Enable Channel Leaderboard as a Frame**

Add the Leaderboard as a frame for channel users to open in Warpcast:

Step 1: click on “**Share Leaderboard Frame**” button in Cura web app, this generates a cast with the frame link quoted in the cast

Step 2: edit the cast and cast in your channel. Then, users will be able to click on the frame to request to join

Step 3: pin the cast to the top of your channel. ## FAQs

1. **Who is eligible for getting channel scores within a channel?**

A user who casts within the channel and receives quality engagement will start earning leaderboard scores. If a channel only allows members to cast, then only members will earn scores. If a channel is open, then anybody who casts might receive channel scores. However, followers of the channel can comment and reply to casts in the channel, and they can still earn scores if their replies and comments got positive engagement from members in the channel.

2. **As a user, how do I earn more channel scores?**

Channel scores are based on quality engagement earned within the channel. Users can increase their earnings by casting high quality content and getting quality engagement from other reputable users within the channel.

3. **How frequently is channel leaderboard updated?**

The channel leaderboard has two tabs. The weekly leaderboard updates everyday at 9am PT (5pm UTC) to add the scores gained by users from the previous 24 hours. The lifetime leaderboards only updates every week at 9am PT on Mondays, when last week's scores get added to lifetime leaderboards.

The weekly leaderboard on Monday after 9am PT reflects the accumulated scores of a user for the week prior. On Tuesday 9am PT, the last week's score disappear from weekly leaderboard and shows only scores earned between Monday 9am and Tue 9am. And every day 9am PT the previous day's earned score gets added to weekly board.

4. **Is there any connection between channel scores across different channels?**

No, each channel has their own leaderboard and scores. A user’s activity in one channel doesn't affect their activity in other channels.

5. **How are channel scores useful?**

Channel scores can be used to distribute daily/weekly rewards to users by channel moderators or other communities that want to target top users within a channel.

6. **Can channel moderators earn channel scores too?**

Yes, moderators can also earn channel scores by posting quality content and receiving good engagement.

7. **Are channel scores onchain?**

Right now channel scores are off chain and can be accessible through Cura. We may bring them onchain based on demand and utility. But these scores can be used to directly distribute any token via Cura.&#x20;

8. **Can all channels have a channel leaderboard?**

We're starting with a few channels that use Cura to manage their channels. Gradually we might activate channel leaderboards across all active channels on Farcaster.


# Distribute Rewards According to Channel Leaderboard

Channel mods can now connect wallet, distribute any ERC 20 token of your choice to channel users using the channel reputation scores. Refer to the below video for how it works.

# Unlocking a Channel Economy

## How does the Ownership and Economics Work

**Economics**

* Fixed supply for each channel token (1 billion tokens)
* Tokens are allocated between channel rewards pool and launch liquidity (moderator decides)
* Channel rewards pool allows X% initial airdrop to users based on retroactive contribution, and rest of the tokens in the channel rewards pool are earned by users weekly based on channel leaderboard over a timeline chosen by the moderator (eg: 24 months)&#x20;
* The Launch liquidity tokens are deployed to a single-sided Uniswap v3 pool with 1% fee tier, enabling immediate trading.
* The Channel wallet earns 95% of the swap fees from the uniswap v3 pool, 5% goes to Cura.

## **Channel Wallet**

Cura automatically deploys a channel smart contract wallet which:

* Requests Cura to deploy the channel token
* Collects and redistributes swap fees from Uniswap
* Holds the Reward Pool and facilitates weekly rewards distribution to channel members based on Leaderboard.&#x20;

## **Reward Pool: reputation based rewards using OpenRank**

* Tokens are distributed using channel-specific OpenRank scores, rewarding quality engagement over spam/farming.
* OpenRank scores are updated daily based on casts and engagement.

## **Channel Member Earnings and Ownership**

Cura allows channel members to earn tokens based on positive contribution. For the community rewards tokens, moderator can automate the following distribution:

* Initial Airdrop: X% of the community earnings pool is distributed as an initial airdrop to channel members based on their contributions over the past 60 days.
* Daily Rewards: X% of the community earnings pool is used for daily rewards distribution. Tokens are earned by channel members based on daily engagement and reputation metrics calculated using OpenRank. Moderators can choose the daily distribution over 0-72 months timeline.
* Cura charges a 2% fees on token distribution.

## **Channel Tokens**

Channels and Moderators have control over driving usage or utility of the channel tokens, for example:

* Hold channel tokens to become a member
* Purchase Channel membership by paying tokens to channel wallet
* Pay channel tokens to Pin Casts for 24 hours, use Openrank scores as reputation criteria
* Mint premium or limited edition NFTs through Channel tokens
* Burning tokens to enable anonymous posts
* Create Surveys on Ponder using Channel tokens


# Earning and Claiming Tokens

FAQ and guide for Channel users

**Who can claim channel tokens?**

Channel tokens are allocated proportionally to channel users according to their contribution score on the channel leaderboard.

Anyone who contributed to high quality casts in the channel and got meaningful engagement will have a score on the channel leaderboard. For gated channels, followers whose reply to casts got meaningful engagement will also receive a score.

**How can I claim the channel tokens?**

Step 1: Go to your channel and find your Channel Leaderboard Frame. It is either a pinned cast or external link shown in channel description.

Step 2: Open the frame, and you can see your channel openrank score in the channel leaderboard. If your channel has launched a token, you will see token amount that you can claim based on the leaderboard.&#x20;

Step 3: Connect your Warpcast verified wallet to the frame. If not, switch wallets. Click on the claim button. If you have non-zerio scores in your leaderboard tab either lifetime or weekly, you will be allocated an amount of tokens to claim.&#x20;

Step 4: Go cast quality content in the channel.

Step 5: If you contributed to the channel in a prior week, channel tokens will be rewarded to you to claim on the following Monday after 5pm UTC.

**When are the channel token allocated?**&#x20;

Channel leaderboards refresh weekly on Monday 5pm UTC. After the refresh to reflect last week's contribution, channel users will be able to claim tokens rewarded for last week.&#x20;

**Do channel tokens expire if I don't claim them in time?**

There's no expiration. You can claim your tokens once they are allocated to you.

**Does every channel have a channel token?**

Not by default. Channel mods can launch a channel token if the community decides that a channel token is a good fit for their community .

**Who owns the channel tokens?**&#x20;

Channel tokens are issued from and managed by a channel smart contract wallet.&#x20;

Channel tokens are collectively owned currencies for communities, enabling them to operate their own economy and reward meaningful contributions. &#x20;

**How are channel tokens created?**

Moderators use Cura to create tokens and configure the distribution. A portion of tokens are allocated for channel reward pool and remaining are launched into a Uniswap pool.&#x20;

**Is channel token liquid? Can I buy it?**

The channel mods can decide the relative allocation of total supply to liquidity pool and reward pool, when initiating the token launch. Tokens allocated to liquidity pool are immediately liquid for anyone.

**How are channel users rewarded from the reward pool?**

Channel rewards pool allows X% initial airdrop to users based on retroactive contribution, and rest of the tokens in the channel rewards pool are earned by users weekly based on channel leaderboard over a timeline chosen by the moderator (eg: 24 months)&#x20;

The parameters are decided by mod when initiating the token launch, and exact distribution is proportionally mapped according to channel leaderboard openrank scores.

* X % for the initial airdrop based on prior contributions.
* Remaining % distributed weekly based on daily contributions, claimable weekly, over a period of time.

**Who manages the community wallet?**

The wallet is collectively owned by the community, and token distributions are automated via Cura smart contracts. The particular governance structure of the wallet is up to the mods and the community they represent.

**How are channel tokens different from other tokens or meme coins?**

Unlike pure speculative tokens, channel tokens allow rewarding quality engagement and contribution within a community. They help align incentives within the community and enable opportunities to build utility and ownership.

**How can channel tokens be used?**

Moderators and members can define utility such as decision-making, content curation, issuing badges, or enabling other channel-specific features.
